Ciao Tutti!

On Thursday I raced a one day near Milan. It felt strange to race a one day,
especially close to Lucca. In comparison, stage races are so epic.

GP Nobili: 190 km

As usual a breakaway escaped in the first half an hour. Team Astana took control
of the pace setting in the peloton. They gave the four riders including my
teammate, Bob Jungles, a ten minute leash and then began slowly pulling it back.
Attacks on the last two climbs brought the breakaway close and fractured the
peloton. Yet, Bob dropped his fellow escapees, and held off the chase, riding
solo to the finish line.

I was misinformed and made a stupid mistake by starting the last climb in such
poor position that I could not pick through the traffic of riders in time to
catch the front group. When I reached the finish, my team staff was celebrating
with Bob. It’s a relief for the team to finally get a win.
